When legendary Wu-Tang founder RZA joined Boombotix, a wireless speaker startup, we jumped at the chance to help promote the significance and excitement of this new partnership between creativity and technology.
By reading RZA’s book, The Tao of Wu, we quickly gained insight into his philosophy of life, music, and business, and built an instant rapport with the hip hop icon that allowed us to collaborate with mutual trust and respect.
Our team interviewed RZA and followed the Wu-Tang Clan on tour to film and photograph moments on and off stage. We then wrote, directed, and produced the RZA / Boombotix collaboration announcement video for release online.
We applied these video and photographic assets to the design of a packaging system, interactive point of sale fixtures, email marketing, and the Boombotix website. RZA’s idea of embedding exclusive music into a wireless speaker caused a huge stir in the music industry for creating a new content delivery concept, and our campaign helped fuel the buzz.
