Google asked Vehicle to design new Google Shops, providing an exciting and open-ended creative brief that gave us plenty of room to explore. The brief read: “Create an open space to learn, explore, recharge, and be delighted by the best in class experiences Google offers. Design a space that is part classroom, part playground, part museum, part spaceship, and all Google.” Yes!

Our retail design team designed a sleek, open space to grab interest from a distance and used warm wood and gentle curves to extend a friendly welcome from the Google brand. The large Google Earth portal, intimate experience bays, variety of cross-device stories, and comfortable phone re-charging den, all combined to offer different ways to engage with the brand.

Consumer journeys and touchpoints were central to every design decision we made. We mapped out how different types of consumers would interact with the retail space to ensure a high degree of brand engagement. Whether enticing reluctant technophobes with large screen entertainment or presenting exciting cross-device demos for Google devotees, the retail design offers touchpoints and easy entry for everyone into the Google ecosystem of software and hardware.
